The Seven Story Tree

I was feeling down today and when I feel down I'm more susceptible to being tempted. It wasn't anything major I was tempted to do. We will never stop sinning in this life but we should, however, progress in our temptations! Oswald Chambers said this in his popular devotion, "My Utmost for His Highest". When I was a young Christian I was tempted by more serious sins. But today, I was tempted to listen to some music which was going to take my focus off God and put it where it didn't need to be. When I logged into my You Tube account, however, I saw that Tenth Avenue North, one of my favorite bands has posted a new video for their song, "Worn" (A song that expressed perfectly how I was feeling!) and was pleasantly surprised to see their lead singer sitting under a tree in what looked like the dead of winter- as the song progressed and the tree came back to life, my tears flowed....and I remembered that God had given me the title of the last chapter (or a chapter) of my book, "The Seven Story House" (This is what I was thinking at the time but it was actually THE TITLE to my first book which is poetry). That title is, The Seven Story Tree Part of that story begins with "the house that Bob built" and a singer/song writer named Matthew West; check out; Matthew West- Family Tree

The Bible says God always goes beyond anything we can hope for (Ephesians 3:20) and this year (2015) I finally self published with Amazon my first book which is a book of poetry called The Seven Story Tree

"The Seven Story House" will be a Bible Study Series based on 2 Peter 1:5-7. Book 6 is about Godliness and the Tree.  Here is the Intro

In front of my fire place! (At the big house! lol)

Here's one of the many Bible verses I've already found about the tree:

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Let me see redemption win
Let me know the struggle ends
That you can mend a heart that’s frail and torn
I wanna know a song can rise from the ashes of a broken life
And all that’s dead inside can be reborn
Cause I’m worn...Tenth Ave North

Here are two poems from my book;  The Seven Story Tree

The Seven Story Tree
I needed a hug
I needed unconditional love....
God gave me Sarah...
Why so serious and delirious?
I needed to have fun
My father-in-law asked "How about a son?"
God gave me Teddy.....
The days were so long
I needed a song...
God gave me Ian
Mom (In-Law) said it sounded like "Ing"
Her father's name that rhymes with sing
Without a care, I needed a bear...
Or maybe a cook?
God gave me Claire
Falling apart,
We needed a new start
Or perhaps more organization?
God gave us Lydia!
You and me in our tree
We will rise to the skies,
Seven Stories high!

The Seven Story Tree 2
I think it's time I write about the tree
It's the story of my life
A musician singing my life with his song
He's sung it several times
How did he know?
Matthew West
God loves me more than the stars that He taught how to shine
He is mine
Now it's a song about family
And a tree
But what does that mean to me?
When I live as a Pharisee
I can't be free
God hates divorce
I can't quote you chapter and verse
Malachi 2
But does He like force?
Subtle abuse, manipulation and control?
What is this cosmic power that chains me to this solemn tree?
Is it me?
Set me free
 But the tree can be
An oak of righteousness
Thinking of yourself  less
The tree is the person who abides in Him
In the beginning was the Word
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
The tree is me
And the love of family
Now I see how I can be the tree planted by the river of life
Forever free
Fruitful, thriving
Just to know my King and
To make Him known
Is Joy Unspeakable,
Faith Unsinkable,
Love Unstoppable,
Anything is possible
